Crowntail betta fish

Many farmers often wonder about the origin of a tail, but not any type caused much excitement as fish Crowntail (crowntail). It's hard to believe that fish crowntails was created (and still create) through the process of selective breeding characteristics rays extended. In a group of normal individuals, you often see a number of individual rays extended, especially females, even so very hard to distinguish with Crowntail at ease if only based on the jagged rays . This unusual characteristics can be captured and exploited by breeders who actively develop bettas aliasing into super special fish: fish crowntails.

To illustrate the process of development from serrated tail betta fish Crowntail quality, the breeder crowntails as Phil Lane has presented a series of images of the strain his Crowntail Mustard Gas on forum Betta Club Singapore. The first is single a Mustard Gas males tail with long rays. Very aware that fish is very nice though but the fan-tail-secondary rays than a halfmoon-ray multi-level. Fish with serrated tail and neat are used to breed the next generation, the to fish crowntails - double beam.

A hybrid females from the same spawn brought with it (the is also serrated tail) to create countless offspring serrated longer.

Selective breeding to the fourth and fifth generation create fish crowntails "real" first even though they still need to be further improved. Now strain Crowntail formed, breeders began to focus on the shape and proportions of the fins.

The next generation of significant progress, not only in the rays, but also in the shape of the fish. Rays sticking out very well and although still needs to be improved, it was so much nicer than the first fish brought hybridization.

February 2005 - nearly two years since Phil started breeding its DT Moustard Gas line - he brought the fish exhibition. At that time, the line quality is not good but it is characterized by "full mask" unique.

In June 2005, the breeding success of the most beautiful big fish released from this line (below) won the Reserve Champion at Aquarama 2005 Exhibition in Singapore.

It really is a fish crowntails - two double rays (DDR) with webbing withdrawal and 33% rays, an ideal ratio in line. Fish Crowntail - double beam usually webbing withdrawal and 50% rays but both double beam, this ratio can make the tail look uneven and "limp". People can easily found a combination of good genes in this fish for spreading tail semicircle (halfmoon) is balanced.

I hope that in the near future, we will see several more rare fish Crowntail appear, such as melano crowntails and orange Crowntail! With determination and patience breeders who desire to bring new things, all things are possible: based on the "label" with many years of hard labor and seriously!
