Crowntail betta fish

Many farmers often wonder about the origin of a tail, but not any type caused much excitement as fish Crowntail (crowntail). It's hard to believe that fish crowntails was created (and still create) through the process of selective breeding characteristics rays extended. In a group of normal individuals, you often see a number of individual rays extended, especially females, even so very hard to distinguish with Crowntail at ease if only based on the jagged rays . This unusual characteristics can be captured and exploited by breeders who actively develop bettas aliasing into super special fish: fish crowntails.

To illustrate the process of development from serrated tail betta fish Crowntail quality, the breeder crowntails as Phil Lane has presented a series of images of the strain his Crowntail Mustard Gas on forum Betta Club Singapore. The first is single a Mustard Gas males tail with long rays. Very aware that fish is very nice though but the fan-tail-secondary rays than a halfmoon-ray multi-level. Fish with serrated tail and neat are used to breed the next generation, the to fish crowntails - double beam.

A hybrid females from the same spawn brought with it (the is also serrated tail) to create countless offspring serrated longer.

Selective breeding to the fourth and fifth generation create fish crowntails "real" first even though they still need to be further improved. Now strain Crowntail formed, breeders began to focus on the shape and proportions of the fins.

The next generation of significant progress, not only in the rays, but also in the shape of the fish. Rays sticking out very well and although still needs to be improved, it was so much nicer than the first fish brought hybridization.

February 2005 - nearly two years since Phil started breeding its DT Moustard Gas line - he brought the fish exhibition. At that time, the line quality is not good but it is characterized by "full mask" unique.

In June 2005, the breeding success of the most beautiful big fish released from this line (below) won the Reserve Champion at Aquarama 2005 Exhibition in Singapore.

It really is a fish crowntails - two double rays (DDR) with webbing withdrawal and 33% rays, an ideal ratio in line. Fish Crowntail - double beam usually webbing withdrawal and 50% rays but both double beam, this ratio can make the tail look uneven and "limp". People can easily found a combination of good genes in this fish for spreading tail semicircle (halfmoon) is balanced.

I hope that in the near future, we will see several more rare fish Crowntail appear, such as melano crowntails and orange Crowntail! With determination and patience breeders who desire to bring new things, all things are possible: based on the "label" with many years of hard labor and seriously!

Classification of several types of tail Betta fish

With Betta play movement developed, the shape of the tail Betta also be interested breeders and create many different types of tail. Here are some of the most basic form of tail can easily help players realize the fastest:
+ Short tail (St. - Tail short):

From ancient times the Betta fish have a short tail

betta12

+ Veil tail (bottom):

betta13

Fish tails screen appears after a long time by Betta breeders and it is now part of the large Betta market in a long time.

+ Roundtail (tail fan):

betta14

This type of tail is a prerequisite for this type of tail Delta later. This is an important step of the breeder

+ Delta Tail (Tail Triangle):

betta15

This is a beautiful tail and strange as it appears for several reasons: straight edges and tail is almost triangular, wide angle tail if open and on the 150 level can be called super delta and over again when they reach 180 degrees or more is called Halfmoon or Over Halfmoon.

+ Super Delta tail:

betta16

This is a tail similar to Delta, but with a larger tail and reach a wider opening angle Delta, can be up to 170 degrees or Delta hon.Super also known as "Halfmoon Geno" because it carries the same genes as Halfmoon.

+ Halfmoon

betta17

Only about 4-5 years ago, Halfmoon is a very rare and precious fish line today with the hard bred of Halfmoon breeders have almost all the colors and varieties of fish, and fish consumption standard in all varieties of long fin Betta today. As its name Halfmoon tail shaped half circle reaches 180 degrees or more.

+ Doubletail

betta18

Doubeltail is a dang fish mutations, normal individuals with one tail fin, double fin with 2 caudal peduncle, more dorsal fin of the dual symmetric shape with anal without strains that have such shapes.

+ Combtail (tail comb):

betta19

Tail comb tail rays as to the tail membrane, this is the kind of fish that can be created easily by crossing 1 Crowntail fish and normal fish

 + Crowntail

betta20

This is a strain of the Far East. Selected from the hybrid varieties Betta for a the Betta Combtail carries a prominent dominant characteristic is the first Crowntail. With long tassels to look stand out. Just Crowntail discovered is the last Crowntail one, to this day Crowntail last more than (2, 3, 4 and last 8).

+ Rosetail

betta21

Rose tail is a tail shape is formed by the process of selection of the tail of the breeder, it has a high value in improving the fish split tail weak (divided by 2) but there are a lot of breeders afraid to use the fish tail flower because their stability. This is still 1 tail controversial. However can say this is still a tail with split tail very well and led to the caudal fin of the fish are layered like petals overlap or suppressed the tail membrane.

In addition to the above tail still some type of tail that you encountered in the breed, but they are only the faulty tail from the tail on that.

Double tail betta fish

We all have the concept of how a beautiful betta but the purpose of this article is to introduce standards mark of IBC . Remember that with a superficial ideal fish, whether single or dual tail tail, three unpaired fins will make a seamless way without gaps. The width of the dorsal fin in large often double than single fin. Double dorsal fin, ideally, is the symmetric image of the anal fin.

 Double Tail Betta fish
Bettas usually double the width of the body (the distance from the back to the stomach) is larger than the single fin. Body thickness is also acceptable as long as it supports for supporting the enormous fins.
The number of caudal fin rays in upper lobe and right lower lobe equivalent and distributed evenly across the center line. Width to length ratio. Lobes on the right lower lobe of equivalent size and symmetry through the center. Two lobes of the tail can be stacked up but must be separated until the base of the tail.
  • General shape of both lobes of the tail is ideal semicircle.
  • Dual fish tail fin many differences for the application:
  • There are two tail lobes instead of one, they are completely separate to the base of the tail.
  • Broader base of the tail to lift two lobes of the tail.
  • Large dorsal fin, equivalent to the size of the anal fin.
  • There is a wide body and short.
  • Curvature at the base of the tail vary depending on each individual DT. Observed from above will see this more clearly.
  • The tail is curved too much error in the dual fin, if not too curved, can be ignored.

The final score is based on the greater or lesser degree of fault.
  • Error in body
  • Too short and fat body (slight fault)
  • Convex or peduncle very curved (fault)

Error in the dorsal
  • Dorsal fin slightly narrower anal (minor fault)
  • Dorsal fin with few rays short at the front, not like anal (minor fault)
  • The dorsal fin is too narrow for anal (fault)

Error in the tail
  • Tail lobe to but not completely split - split over three-quarters (slight fault)
  • Tail lobes somewhat irregular (fault)
  • Tail lobes separated from ½ to ¾ (fault)
  • Tail lobe irregular in size or shape (fault)
  • Tail lobes are small but (fault)
  • Caudal lobe about half or less of separation (fault)
  • Small and irregular tail lobe (fatal error)

Although the appearance of of halfmoon completely overwhelms double tail fish, but in my opinion, the double fish tail puppy and balance with stacked fins when flaring looks great!
